big oil companies are happy with this car. it's not for everyone and only a handful can afford it. in 5 years time everything with this car will still be the same as it is now.

the chevy volt will be better...but what im wondering is that when it gets low on battery...will it slowly go down and lose speed as the battery goes down... powerloss would be a big issue...like on an electric scooter it loses power

big oil is more powerful than pg&e and other power companies. big oil employs millions of people in oil rig workers, ship oil transporters, truck oil transporters, refinery workers, gas station owners, company ceo's, employees, shareholders plus significant holdings in every major US corp, car manufacturer is held by middle east investors. shame on GM for selling its battery in 2000 to texaco. some patriotic manufacturer you are!!! shame on honda for recalling all the leased ev's!!!!!

They are working on making the SUV's that will be all electric and get about 250 miles a charge, they are just selling the tesla roadster to make money to help them make the electric cars better.

read about chevron who bought the NiMh battery patent from GM and until their hold is not over, tesla will have to continue to use lithium batteries as in laptops. big oil wants this to fail.

No worries. Someone will no doubt bootleg NiMH batteries for this purpose. ICE are not the only things that can be modified aftermarket.

I love this car, but the price tag is steep unless you're Bill Gates or Tiger Woods....and I like having enough cargo room to carry more than a 6-pack of beer....so why cant they make a $35,000 SUV that's all-electric and get 250 miles on a single charge? They would sell millions of them!
