Silent Hunter III - Patrol 3

What graphics card are you using? I have a cheap desktop I got that has a graphics card that isnt supported but I am still able to play the game though just with no ocean waves. Was going to get a custom built computer but not sure what graphics card would be the best to play SH 3 and SH 4 without spending $800 - $900 for the GeForce 8800 Ultra.

When I made this I was using a GeForce 6600, you certainly don't need to spend more than $150... Just avoid the ATI 2600 AGP, if you use AGP, as ATI haven't supplied drivers that work properly.

Would a GeForce 6600 in a notebook computer be the same as the desktop version? On the box it says that notebook versions are not the same. Just curious since I travel alot and would rather have a notebook to take with me. Now the 6600 series should play SH3 and SH4 im taking it so the only thing left is ram which i was looking at 2 or 3 gb what ever is possible. Was told by friend their father can build me a desktop with 5gb of ram
