Actually, Hungarian is a Uralic language and Turkish is an Altaic language. They're significantly different. It's not unusual for a language to adopt foreign words, especially when it is influenced by outsiders. English, for example, has adopted words from French, Spanish and German.

Altaic theory is disputed. Not even most of the number are similar in turkish, tunguzic & mongolian. Turkish & hungarian has an interesting commonalities in grammer, not only loan words or related words.

That is interesting that the grammer is similar. Maybe there is more to it than I realized. It's been nice talking to you thraciensis.
