im starting rugby in the spring but i dont know what position i should play. I am 5'8(1.72M) and 125 pounds (56KG). Any advice on where I should play? I got passing down, and I am an OK runner. My tackling is kind of poor but I am working on it. Where should I play?!?!?! Please reply.

Hey, im 15 i jus started playing rugby too for my school team, im new at it too, im a good sprinter and quite strong and i play well on the wing, try that out?

First of all to play no.8 you need to be able to lift above your weight, ie. lifting locks and loose forwards in lineouts, secondly no.8 does most of the confrontaional work ie. tackling, rucks and mauls also hitups. also centre or second 5/8 needs standard ball handling skills ie. passing, kicking. Also centre (12/13) is the core of the midfeild defence. I'd say play wing. its the easiest postion on the feild all you need is fitness, speed, agility and natural skill.
