Tfuchs, that is a nice video of your Model 453. I just hope some future vids will show her at her best, on some real slopes.

It was up on some nice slopes that leaned it all the way over fore and aft the very next day. But no one was around to run the camera at that time.

Our neighbors had one of those until about 1982 or so when they replaced it with the rare 1420 Axial Flow. It was the smallest Axial Flow where they only made a few of them as a test. Their old Binder like this one had a pretty narrow header but seemed to moved through the fields pretty fast.

The 1420 is NOT that rare of a combine, and a lot more than just a few were made. It was produced from 1981 through 1985, after which it became the Model 1620. I've never heard of any hillside [factory] production of this one, either, but do know Hillco and RAHCO can make a hillsider out of any model, provided it's worth the investment.

Our farm had a Massey Harris 92 Hillside which was only a 2 way leveling and used a funky primitive mercury switch system to work.
