Description :	Volvo Car Corporation will develop a completely new racing car in 2008 and continue its work with bioethanol (E85) and Green Racing in the STCC (Swedish Touring Car Championship). The modern green racing car is based on the Volvo C30, the model that most clearly demonstrates Volvo's environmental technology on the market, with versions such as the Flexifuel and the upcoming 1.6D Efficiency. The latter has an average fuel consumption of 0.45 litres per 10 km (52 mpg-US/62 mpg-UK) and CO2 emissions under 120 grams per kilometre. Development of the new racing car will be done jointly by Volvo Cars and Polestar Racing.

Actually it is indeed a fact that our (and when I say "our" I mean globally) coal power plants emit more carbon than any other single contributor. We would be using nuclear power plants that contribute much less here in the states, but the average American either doesn't care or is afraid of it simply because they don't understand it. Nuclear energy is safer than you think, and sooner or later we're going to have to stop using coal.

Nuclear energy is not so safe. May I remind you of Chernobyl? Toxic waste is a hassle to dispose of. Also all equipment used in producing nuclear waste will sooner or later will have to be disposed of as well. The equipment and waste remain radioactive for years to come. Radioactivity isn't good for the env or us. Although coal power plants do emit more carbon that any other contributor. I rather go w/ something more safe & Eco friendly like water or wind power even tho da power output is less.
