I prefered the nintendo 64 version over the playstation version because it has the same ''Atmopheric'' music from quake 1 and doom 64. I prefer the controller also (probaly because I got used to). Sure the ennemy mouvement may be choppy but a least the game is really good without much lag and no loading except for the map (witch is strange consediring its a catdridge

Bloody good game Quake II! Scary n all lol
|
Man that's good graphics for psx , cool.

i'd like 2 point out that u missed 1 kill in the reaserch lab :]

The playstation version is horrible compared to the pc version. The PSX version has sound changes which arent that good, level changes, song changes (a few sonic mayhem ones stayed in) besides that the pc one is the best one.
|
Actually, from what I can tell, it has all of the extra tracks by Sonic Mayhem from the PC expansions (9 new songs in all), but misses 2 from the original PC version. That's a buttload of music. :)

And true it's better on the PC and the 360, Quake II will always be. The consoles back then just weren't powerful enough.
However, it's freaking amazing what they did with this port with 2 megs of memory. The few new levels are cool too. It's a great game, and one of the best console shooters of that generation.
The PC was until recently, leaps and bounds above the consoles for FPS. Thankfully the gap has been filled.
In the end, Quake II is super fun anyway you play it. ;)

I dunno about it being better on the PC. I've played the hell out of the PC version and this looks like it has more monsters, and better gfx. Its got lens flare etc that the PC version didnt have. It looks like OpenGL. An amazing port.
|
dude in the ps1 the fight against markon in hard mode is a lot harder than the pc version, maybe you have more leves in the pc version but the ps2 version is harder than the pc's
|
I disagree. This port is amazing and I'm not a big PSX fan. The boss on this level is not on the PC version. The gfx on this are better than the PC version.
