Yes it is kind of awkward to call a person like that here, its prejudice. but i guess Pazzeto wanted to make it clear, because there is two girls called Ana Paula? i hope its that.

"Ana Paula Costa...the black girl." Why did he have to say that? He already distinguished her by name. It was a little tacky to me.

I took an anthropolgy course a couple of years ago and if I remember correctly, the denotation of who is black and who isn't is a lot different in Brazil than in North America. There are varying degrees of "blackness", and each shade if you will, has a different name. Their culture is entirely different and perhaps comments we consider tacky are not so Brazil? I don't know -- just my $0.02! :)

I'm just saying, if I referred to someone by his/her name, there's no point in saying their race. "That chick over there, that white girl---" it's crass. I'm Black, and if someone referred to me as "that black girl" as opposed to using my name (if they know it), I'd be annoyed.

you know, they edit these shows and maybe they didn;t show it but, maybe they didn;t remember which one she was and he said "the black girl" to remind them...just a thought
