Do some reasearch on google. Only 3 gig can be utilised by applications. In fact go on the windows website and go to the xp section. Maybe you can send an email to gates telling him hes wrong.

What I am talking about is the so called shared memory you're mentioning. A standalone card doesn't intervene with the systems memory. The half a gig of memory that is "missing" is actually reserved by the OS, you still get the benefit of the modules themselves. It's a misconception that 4gig is a waste on 32bit versions of windows. Either way I don't care anymore since I've switched to Mac.

The ram thats reserved for the XP is actually 1gig. And gpu ram is included in the amount of ram xp can utilise. Xp can only use 3gig of ram for APPLICATIONS, which includes games. It counts gpu ram. Look into it i think youll find im correct. Good luck with your mac.

well done, you paid a stupid price for a system that wont come near the performance of a pc. And get honors in Computer Science before you talk like you know whats going on, id explain it at undergrad level but you wouldn't understand, so Ill simply say your wrong, 32 bit does not utilize 4 gig.

I think I paid a pretty good price when I built it considering it is a Hackintosh. Either way, a Pro with 8 cores, 16gig mem and an ATI HD 4xxx series card has no problems beating any PC in performance.
