1. The excerpt this student is performing is very short, and very difficult to see what her level is. 2. It takes more than 11 years to decide if you are better than someone. 3. In my honest opinion, as a violinist that has been playing violin for 17 years, I think what I saw in this video was a very sensitive violin player. 4. Bragging about how you have played 2 of 3 movements of a concerto is petty, and just shows you haven't played the whole thing.

You know, the thing I hate most is when someone who is apparently good at something is unbearably cocky (*looks at Levon*). You will get nowhere if you're like that in life. Learn to be modest and humble and suddenly, the whole world is at your feet. Besides, the student is at least brave enough to be having a masterclass with someone as amazing as Maxim. It's quite daunting having someone so good scrutinising your playing. I think Maxim does a wonderful job in being encouraging and helpful.

Guys STOP IT! listen to what Mazim said !! it's all about the music. Not personality or who is better - who is worse! express something, feel something...COMMUNICATE something! that is what a masterclass is about - releasing the potenital in what are very talented musicians to project and communicate the beauty of the music to the listener. I love masterclasses!

I agree, put your money where your mouth is. Post a video on youtube of your playing and let's see if you're as good as you say.
