This was my very 1st car!

Awesome commercial, makes it not seem so long ago!!!

It really doesn't seem so long ago and the commercial itself seems very modern for the time. :O)

Indeed! The zooming into the text at the end is very modern to me and I really like how the setting they used for the commercial, the plane's shadow over the car is a nice effect as well! The music is very commanding and driving I think :].

Indeed! I really like the zooming into the text at the end, I didn't expect that from a '60's commercial! Also I like the plane's shadow directly over the car, it really puts it into proportion size-wise! The music is also very driving, this is a classic commercial and car for sure :]!

Blah triple post now since I thought the last comment didn't post my apologies :[...

So funny you said what you said, those are all the reasons why I like this ad so much. The text, the zooming, the glider shadow and the music. Very modern for it's time, Just look at the 67 or commercials for Chrysler and you can see a difference, they seem extremely old.

I grew up with one of these, which my parents bought new when I was 9 years old. Legend has it that my Dad drove it across Ohio in 2 1/2 hours when it was new. I never went over 100 in it, but my brother claims to have "buried the needle" once. We affectionately called it "The Tank", it was big, green, and emerged unscathed from several minor accidents. Sadly, rising gas prices and lack of really good High Test forced us to sell it for $300 in '79. The new owner wrecked it 3 weeks later :-(
