He didn't call them secret societies. He called them communists and spies. When he mentions secret societies in his fragment of transcript, he meant just that. He used the CIA for a while and wasn't too privy of their power over US gov't. This was one of the few hints he dropped. At the time, the focus was on communism. No one had any clue about internal secret socities. If he would of talked more, he would of just been branded a nut.

There are MANY reasons JFK was killed. And Cuba was the least of it. That is just one smokescreen.
