No seatbelt for the child during take-off procedures?????? Looks unsafe.

It was perfectly safe and legal to hold the child this way. My guess is that you don't have children, or that you have never been on an airliner before. Part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulations defines the use of seatbelts and child restraints for aircraft operated under this part.

No need for the attitude. If the aircraft crashed, you probably wouldn't be so defensive.

You don't place an 18 month old in a seatbelt system designed for an adult. No regulations were broken.

My intent was not to accuse or to offend you. Ive been flying for decades, and have experienced harsh conditions during take-off/ climb-out/landing,etc, that have made re- straintimportant. Part 91-62a is a recom- mendation for voluntary child seats and the regulations governing their use. Your posting shows a practically empty a/c. I was surprised not see some type of supplemental restraint in place for the youngsters safety. Emergency situations occur in a split second.
