Video Title :
President Roosevelt speaks about being an American
Description :
President Roosevelt speaks about a very sensitive topic in America Today...Immigration. President Roosevelt sums up what every American today should feel. If you are an Immigrant, we have laws in the nation about becoming a citizen. Many people follow these rules and become citizens every day. Other immigrants break the laws and then march on our nation to change those laws. As Americans, these laws are in place to protect our nation. Please do not come to this country illegally and then try and change our laws. I know so many people who have followed the law and our citzens today...including my parents. Sometimes we have to look at the Past to Understand our Future. President Roosevelt sums it up about what it means to be an American in this speech presented over 100 years ago.

Teddy Roosevelt is my hero! I would have Teddy Roosevelt as President and Ronald Reagan as Vice President! Now that would be something, huh? One can dream, and it is my dream that someday we will have such a phenomenal administration as the likes of those two fine GENTLEMEN!
Great video!!!!
My boyfriend actually came to the USA, and served proudly in the US Army, and got his citizenship that way. His English is actually better than mine. He is outraged when he sees immigrants come in and get a "free ride", where as he had to work so hard for what he got. I believe that if you want to come to the USA, then you need to adapt to our customs, whereas, if I would go to another country to live, I would live up to their customs, so I think immigrants just need to put forth the effort.
People today do not understand what it means to be an American...you should be proud to part of this nation and feel lucky to have freedom...and show a little respect by just learning English.
If Theodore Roosevelt was alive today and running for President this year, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat as many patriotic Americans would.
