What a bunch of freakin dumb asses

This is a factual event. I've lived near Florence (the scene of the whale) and heard about the it in Marine Bio class. BTW, a dead whale would float, however, if it were "gutted" it would sink.

well obviously

whether or not americans are idiots, why didn't they just dump the whale back into the water? I'm sure the government could have gotten some contruction vehicles brought there to life the whale into a large boat of some kind, then dump the whale a few miles away. or would it float... idk... I've never seen a floating dead whale.... or a floating live whale... actually, this may be one of very few non-animated whales I've ever seen... then there's speculation on whether or not this vid is real...

to bad its fake. some guy made for some class or something. good work tho. =-)

They pretty much admitted that they had no clue how to deal with it. Blow it up and pray the birds what's left of eat it seemed the most pleasant way to go about it.
|
That's a stupid idea. Giant rotting corpses smell bad and the last thing you want to do is make it smell bad over a huge distance.
The done thing now is to cut it up and take it away, which is just extremely unpleasant for the people doing it.

Does anyone think of the whale from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?

I am sending a petition to Salem, Oregon and writing letters to philanthropists: a monument of some variety needs to be constructed in Florence commemorating this. Hey, it's Oregon, the hick cousin of California; we'll take what we can get!
