Watching this video i thought you could taper the inlay blocks edges slightly in,and have your hole just deeper,so you could force the block down hard and the edges would really be tight, then sand the block flush with the main piece.
Excellent Video! I thought that was a "fixed" base router, instead of a "plunged" base router, but other than that...nice tip!
