This type of talent was as much of a curse for Kovalev as it was a blessing. He hogged the puck so much especially early in his career because of his stick handling confidence that he often hurt his team. He's only scored more than 65 points three times in his career.

Its very hard to single out between kovalev, Datsyuk and Zherdev. They each have different style. I would say kovalev's is more instinctive whereas Datsyuk is the master of prepared tricks.

Not sure if you know this but... the pads now are 11-12" wide.. so 15 inches wide would be monster pads. (if you're talking about leg pads)
