why does he shoot flares? did he listen to much "let the bodies hit the floor" and wanted to smoke some farmer afghanis? don't we all love america :D

kiratu We are more professional than that. We don't have bloodlust. The flares are just tactics to protect the aircraft and the aircrew. They always have a good reason to dispense flares. If by "Afghani Farmer" you mean Taliban or Insurgent, the flares don't pose much of a threat. Yes, we all do love America. Don't believe everything you see in the media.

Yes, it's from the 182nd Airlift Wing. It's a National Guard unit, and I work on all of the aircraft there. Cool video by the way!

just to know does its normal on to deploy flares on take off does it like at all T-O and landing you deploy flares or was it attack
