HATE the name dropping in this song! It's so unnecessary! If you MUST do it then at least let it be an all time classic artists name dropping. He only mentioned Luther (a considered classic). But the rest.. "And I know you like 112", "One time for Jagged Edge" .. What? What? WHAA?! All things aside, I REALLY LOVE his voice!

A lot of the name dropping are of songs or people he has written for.

It's the point of the song, come on!! HAVE AN OPEN MIND!!!

Since the name of the song is turn the music up, and he is talking about music and relating it a woman he wants, the "name dropping" is appropriate. Also considering he wrote for a lot of those people. I love this song, he voice is amazing. As he said he "got a crib with an elevator in it, aint dropped on album of my own girl." There a lot of artist that come out solo, after they have been writing for artists and making money for years.
