The police do know the law better than most. We work with it every day. But we are up against barristers with 6 years at law school and the public expect us to know everything. Firstly before you accuse people of being thick I suggest you correct your poor grammar and English. The police suspected the film maker had committed an offence, challenged him, found they were incorrect and left. That's called an honest mistake not corruption. If they were corrupt they could have lied and locked him up for something he hadn't done. There are very few corrupt bobbies. Most get found out. And guess why. CCTV. 30 cameras per square feet!?! I think not somehow. A square foot is about the size of a large dinner plate. You're talking rubbish. CCTV is a fantastic tool. If you ever become a victim of crime you'll wish there had been a camera where it had happened. And as if anyone will be bothered about someone like you taking pictures of cameras. Get a life!!

you should watch you tube video "camera shy big brother" then speak your piece you dont think any body would be botherd if the guy takes shots of cctv poles then watch said vid it will open your eyes to the abuse people in authority do to innocent members of the public

First of all I'm stating a fact. No-one in Scarborough is bothered about him recording the cameras. The camera sites are published anyway. And there are not enough. Well I've watched it and what a load of ill informed drivel it is. It's such a shame that Youtube has opened the floodgates to conspiracy theorists everywhere. Big Brother state my backside. I think the people in that video generally acted correctly in the face of the antagonistic 'know-it-all' members of the public. The police are recognised as a terrorist target and in this day and age then if they are filmed by members of the public they would have every right to take their details. I know if someone deliberately filmed me on duty I would check them through to ensure they had no markers for terrorism.

The police who tried to stop the male filming them in his garden should have stopped him and taken his camera from him, seizing it as evidence of the offence they were originally investigating. He could have it back once it had been sent away for analysis. Why was he filming in the first place? To wind up the police and provoke a reaction. Pathetic. And as for the shop security, would you be happy with someone stood 3 feet from you taking pictures of your face whilst trying to do your job? No.

The police have 12 weeks law training and are expected to know everything. It is in fact the public who have a misconception of the law in this country built on ignorance and foreign television. The amount of prisoners in the UK who believe they have the right to make a phone call. THEY DO NOT. CCTV systems are monitored and subject to huge amounts of paperwork before they can be put in place to protect us. My eyes are open. It's time you opened yours to the rubbish on this site.

you totally missed the point of the film plus what offence was the guy in his garden filming there was no offence he was filming the police excersising there stop and search powers on a minor which the guy was right in doing cos the officers are obviously corrupt the way they tried to fuck with the filmmaker..you say the police only get 12 weeks law trianing well they where pretty damn addamant about knowing the law...i think your just a blind sheep or a shill...
