Very beautiful aircraft design, it's good to look at and it's lines are very nice. I like the work that has been done by the french air force and Dassault by developing that airplane. It might be a good replacement for the Mirage unless they'll update it.

enybody know about Project " Novi Avion" of Yugoslavia? The Project was support with french know how and it is very curious that the rafale has its first flight in 1991 ( beginning of the civil war) and the plane looks like a detailed copy

Oke im not right its not a copy the yugolav plane was smaler

the rafale is clearly an evolution of the mirage plane.. i don't think they needed to copy on another country for that ;) french are pretty good at building planes.

The Rafale has been given a BVR combat rating of 50%, the Eurofighter has been given one of 82%. The Rafale is however as good as the Eurofighter in air to ground combat, if not better. It is also cheaper, but perhaps not more cost effective.

"The Rafale is also stealthier" Only very slightly. The Eurofighter is almost as stealthy. Also the Eurofighter is faster, can supercruise (the Rafale barely can, and it will be this way until it is given new engines, which should be some time quite soon). The Eurofighter will be able to supercruise faster than the Rafale with the new engines. The Eurofighter is more manoeuvrable and has slightly more advanced systems and has a better radar.
