Good thing you didn't write this new one. The changes you propose would destroy what makes this show so good. In the original Baltar was just plain evil - one dimensional - but the new Baltar has many sides to him; just like a real person. He's not black or white; he's shades of gray and that's why he's so damn interesting.

If you are truly a fan of the original series, then it probably would take more than 3 episodes to adjust to the new one. You will grow to like it if you finish the first season.
