Description :	A legal, alligator hunt in S.E. Georgia. This alligator was taken under the strict guidelines of the Georgia DNR. I attended the GA DNR class for permit holders. The hide was inspected by the GA DNR and then sold to a tannery while meat of the alligator was harvested too. Good hunters respect their quarry and cherish the outdoors and environment. You'll see that we did not hunt the gator just for the hell of it. Large gators are really only good to brag about. I took a gator whereupon all of the gator could be used. Also, according to the GA DNR, only 25% of the permit holders, there are 3000, actually bag a gator. I used as much of the gator as possible and not just to shoot one and brag about it. I am very conservation minded and am a board member of the Coastal Conservation Association of Georgia. Unfortunately, there is not as much habitat as there was a million years ago. When an ecosystem cannot support large numbers of alligators, the whole ecosystem suffers. Animals are eaten at greater numbers and even more gators starve or get sick. The state of Georgia is set up into zones and permits handed out per zone based on the number of gators that should be taken in that habitat area to keep a balance in the ecosystem. Remember, in these habitats the alligator is the top predator with no natural enemies. Left unchecked they would grow to unsustainable numbers. This is the best way that we have found to help along the population at managable levels to ensure future generations of the american alligator.

your right..because you have to be 16 to hold a liscence, any age under is legal without one
