A400 Payload: 82,000lb C-130J payload: 42,000lb ------------------------ A400 Range: 5,022nmi C-130J range: 2,835nmi ------------------------ The Max Takeoff Weight for the C-130J is 70.3tons. The A400's Weight (empty) 70.0tons. A400's Max Takeoff weight: 141.0tons. I cant wait to see the Cockpit of the A400! Way to go Europe!!!

Would the US call a NATO allies foreign. Germany doesnt mind having C5 Galaxys on its soil. Im sure the US wouldnt mind having a few A400Ms built by one of its allies. Any other non-NATO nation I would call foreign.

Europe is considering Commercialising its logistics for its millitary/Peace keeping operations. Look on the European Defence Agency website. `Commecialising logistics`. You dont always need to use millitary transport. You can make good use of private companys to ferry millitary equipment around. Like companys that operate Antonovs.
