I don't think he carried it (I think her on-stage monologue carried it, myself... ...but I agree his devotion to her (offered in his own fashion), was particularly poigiant.

This really is a wonderful movie. I've never seen it since Chris R. died. I should check it out again. The theme has such an important role in the film too. When you hear it now, it really triggers something inside after you've seen the film.
