I really do love the prominate role the music plays in these cartoons. The music is what determines most of the animation and gives it this really creative, jazzy flavour. Cab Calloway is great as Koko!

But don´t forget, this was made in 1933, the dawning of Hitler`s Aryan supremacy campaign, so Im sure that it was a very sensitive time, too. I honestly dont think it was the intention of the animators, Cab wouldnt have dug the idea that.
