Tell The Truth Mr. Laing

Mr.Laing has done no wrong and if he had done any the PM would have dealt with him. The FNM isn't like the PLP an let our ministers get away with wrong doing.The PM and the cabinet know right from wrong and that is why the people of the Bahamas voted us in.

Hubert Ingraham is not God and his word does not make a wrong a right. Mr. Laing was caught with the cookies in his hand stuffing down his pants and wrong is wrong no matter how you slice it. Maybe you should ask yourself why Mr. Laing would continue to hang on to stories that nobody would buy if the FNM weren't in power. This whole affair makes this country's morals seem corrupt and the QC scandal is another example of the FNM double standard at work. When they do it, its OK. What a shame.

Why do FNM's always try to trash PLP things? Do we trash and crash their site? Talk about Chupid!

I wouldnt even reply, because when persons like you cant act in a sensible manner and just have a decent PLP vs. FNM deliberation instead you only hurl insults at others who aren't plp supporters

No insult FNM Boy. We can discuss the issues but you guys seem to be hanging your hats on this issue on the words of the PM and not the facts of the matter and to me, that shows either you don't understand the issue at hand or you don't want to. Pointing that out and not having much patience for it is not me trying to "hurl insults at others who aren't PLP supporters." In this situation, we should be supporters of the facts and what is right by the Bahamian people and not PLP or FNM.

So lets discuss the facts then. Mr. Laing influenced Customs for the benefit of his family and has deliberately attempted to distract the public by insisting that Customs "changed the rate". Hubert repeated this and the Opposition has always maintained that the category was the issue. Customs is saying the same thing. Its a clear cut conflict of interest case and there is no way to get around that. So what Hubert says doesn't matter because the law applies to everyone and he is no different.

So you should reply, although I doubt you will because its easier to just claim that PLPs are being belligerent and smell blood in the water. Lets look at the facts alone and you tell me FNM Boy if its okay for a Minister to get down to this level and insert himself in the rate of duties only at the behest of a family member. Do you think this issue would have been as big a deal if Laing had removed himself from the matter and let someone else do it? It would still be wrong but at least he ...

...he wouldn't have been in the middle of it. Where is the fairness to other importers who have had to pay the 45% on their products that are in the same situation? Shouldn't Mr. Laing have allowed Custom's ruling to stand and then at Budget time review the category with a view to making a formal change on behalf of all juice/drink distributors? The FNM put personal gain first and foremost and for that he should be fired. If it were a PLP, you would have never heard the end of it so be fair.

this comment also shows just how gullible and easily fooled FNM supporters are. Anything big bad Hubert says, you gobble up like hungry little puppies. If he said the sky is orange, I suppose you would believe that too. Use your common sense and recognize that wrong is wrong and your junior minister was wrong for doing what he did and there is nothing your god/king/leader can say to change that fact.

The issue that even Hubert knows is not the rate of duty but the conflict of interest in his involvement. For you to repeat that garbage that Hubert ran on with shows that you guys have little understanding of what is going on. The PLP never argued that he changed the rate. He involved himself in a customs matter solely for the benefit of his sister and that is wrong. That is why Hubert tried to talk about other people and this product, yet, like Laing, he cannot or has not named another person
