Wow,that's a good story we've heard for years. Accually, there r an awful lot of other versions of how Panchen passed away: One of them is, tenth Panchan was headed secretly by Deng Xiaoping's brother's son's paterner's aunt's collegue's nephew. Those are the facts! I'm sure there are a lot good hearted Chinese people that would agree it's not just western sympathy. It's the common world's opinion which transcends, race,colour,age,religon and nationality. It's what makes us all human.

I may not understand. Kidnapping the Panchen, as well as being a boy, he is supposed to be a symbol of Tibetan Identity; the same way you may see the Torch as national pride your honour. When it is not received well, you get upset, offended and 'bent out shape' because of what it represents to you. There is a SIMPLE MORAL ISSUE, no need to 'sugar coat' or 'spin' this. Any moral,conscience minded person can it this way. THE BOY HAS BEEN ABDUCTED AND INCARCERATED. That is fact!

I'd like to see evidence that led you to believe this. Unless your definition of a beating is grabbing a torch. Please clarify. Our media has not told us of these beatings.
