Hey ladypicies20, just to let you know..corn snakes dont live in forests..just so you know..they live in most of florida and the everglades and other states but not in the forest

Actually they can be found in forest land as well. They are found along most parts of the Eastern United States such as in FL and PA. They can be found in various habitats such as forest, swamp land, and rocky areas.

for day time alturnitive to a light use a ceramic light just adding to the fact about the light on at all the time you are very you will almost never see him durring the day if you have a light on

Hey, im a Begginer in snakes and im getting my first snake which is a corn next week but i need 2 set up my vivarium first couple of questions, where do i need to put the probe for the thermometer? and if i had a thermostat surly i dont need a thermometer with a probe? also i have a heat mat and a uv light is that ok? cheers emily

Hello and congrats on getting a snake. Alright first off..Even though you do have a thermostat I still recommend a thermometer. The thermostat will control the temp. but you need to know what the temp is, some thermostats won't tell you what degrees it's at so if it doesn't then definitely get a thermometer. You would put the thermometer probe under the bedding right over the glass where the uth is. The heat mat is good, unless it gets really cold in your house you don't really need the light...

If he doesn't like being touched you should try to handle him daily. make your actions slow and don't touch around his head

Actually I've been doing just that! He's really come along greatly..He's still a little jumpy at first but once he's out of the tank he really starts to calm down. I have grown to love him as much as Maize :0)

Nice to hear it, well done

Thanks for the vid it helped a lot

^o^ aww, you're so cute. i want a carn snake that watches TV with me!
