they aren't that hardcore more alternative in a sense.

this music fits to the title Grunge to me more than any band! its just the messyness of the guitar, its smooth bass, its happy, to sad to angry vocals, 3 piece. i just love it! i mean NIRVANA (my favorite band btw) had all those things too but they were too good and so become commercial, Dinosaur Jr produce less commercial music and so to me so much more grungy. Totally awsome.

nevertheless, ive seenem live 5 times and he was out of tune. "messing with the whammy bar" is cool but he also flubs some chords too. he also took half of all earnings of their reunion tour. great band but i think j gets too excited sometimes

No, he is purposely messing w/ the whammy bar, that's how the song goes. One of the best songs ever written btw.
