Though I may not have the money for better.... analog synthesizers, I make do with what I have. I'm also not the most well-versed person in analog synthesis. I just know that when I move this slider I get this result, I turn that knob and I get that result. So pardon my lack of knowledge and proper terminolgy. (We shall not speak about my lack of talent ;^)
Basically, I want Rogue Moog owners to see just how useful the MF-102 Moogerfooger Ring Modulator can be. It is far more than a "noise maker" stompbox, although that in itself is a lot of fun. These videos are probably a lot longer and more boring than they should be. But, I hope that they showcase a few neat things that can be done with "budget" synths. What is it that they say? A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing? A lack of knowledge (on my part) is probably far more dangerous ;^)
At this point I've added in the Concertmate MG-1, the cousin of the Rogue Moog. I would like to mention here that the MG-1 CANNOT send CV signals, it can only receive. So, you cannot do this MF-102 "trick" using an MG-1 instead of a Rogue. I'm not sure what other synths can work with the MF-102, but I'm sure there are more.
I recorded these clips "unrehearsed," so there are probably some things that I missed which I thought about after watching through them. Post any questions you want and I'll try to answer them -- or perhaps someone better versed in this stuff can reply.
Thanks to the Squarewave Yahoo group for the informative "Lord of the Ring (Modulator)" article.

Nah.
:D
Love your stuff by the way!
Thanks :) I haven't pulled any of my synths out in a while, I've been so busy. I still want to make a better video, edit it up and maybe record voice-overs instead of not knowing what to say as I'm messing with the synth(s)...
lol nah
which is by far the best price for an analog synth.
can i use that moogerfooger 102 with any instrument? i have a CS6X yamaha synth, and a kurzweil sp88x
yep
MG1 is underrated. It's a Moog with the 24db filter etc. Add MIDI for $99 MIDIJack and it's easy to install. I recommend playing it via MIDI (smoother) But the sounds, esp.from the heaphone jack (not the RCA jacks) is clean and fat. You can add some reverb, flanger whatever to sweeten it up. I am getting some amazing sounds with a BOSS GT-6B bass effects pedal. You have to effect the output otherwise you won't get it. It will be dry and weak sounding.
