another thing is that .exe files dont do anything on a mac and, basically, all applications on a mac are folders with rich-text-files that make the folder open in a way that causes a program action... so that means that it would be REALLY hard to create a mac virus that the owner wouldnt have to open by themselves

no one is saying it isnt possible to CREATE a virus for mac, but since macs are not used very much at all, no one takes the time to make them, therefore, there are VERY FEW viruses for mac
