Paul Tibbetts did not commit suicide and passed away a few years ago. I believe he got see the Enola Gay restored by the Smithsonian.

We had to do it otherwise millions more people will die and Japan wanted to fight to the death.
This is why I became a Quaker, after serving in the Falklands and two tours of Northern Ireland. These men were heros. They did what they had to. Japan would never have surrendered.Like our RAF and SAS. As a matter of conscience I would never pull the trigger again. But thanks lads

I don't think that we were any better when we launched the Thousand Bomber raids on Dresden. Not that I agree with it as a Quaker, but I will not judge. If history serves me, the Captain of the Enola Gay took his own life
