i work offshore in the north sea, the possibility of this happening never leaves my mind

Yes, we know that from the previous parts.
|
We already know. You don't have to keep saying it. -_- It's quite annoying now.

Thanx for posting this Sasmaster12345! I love ACI and I haven't seen this one before!

Boeing 787 were also made from composite carbon too!!
|
And thats my major concern with them... this whole issue of read across or whatever im sure has happened to some extent with them... there was a boeing engineer who had expressed concerns about the safety of the new materials... was he perhaps referring to the electrical conductivity of the carbon fibre? Either way I don't want to fly on the 787 for the first couple of years as I don't trust them one bit.

Even Boeing 777 contain 50% of composite material. But, Boeing 787 contain 85% of composite material!!!
|
the reason the helicopter went down was because the rotor became unstable after a small part of one of the blades blew off after the blast, about 100g as they say.
The composite materials on planes are mainly the bodywork, not the engines and therefor you won't be experiencing anything like this on a plane.
