Wow. Daffy Duck came before Bugs Bunny. Bugs debuted in 1940. 3:54-4:00. hahahaXD. Daffy was born as the character he became famous for. A loudmouthed selfish jerk!. Normally characters take different charcters before they find one that fits.

FYI...Casper Caveman is a not-so-thinly takeoff of Jack Benny.

I remember this cartoon being in black and white. Is there such a copy available?
|
Daffy the Dinosaur was originally produced by WB in 1939 and released to theaters in Technicolor. IMDB records that the color was subsequently restored by WB a few years back. Since the film is in the public domain, perhaps there was a black white version you saw that was released to TV or video prior to the WB restoration.

Thanks for the reply. It's been so long since I"ve seen this cartoon. It's probably the dull technicolor version I remember seeing. Nonetheless, thanks for loading this classic cartoon!!

Warner Brothers cartoons are NOT in the public domain. Public domain refers to whether or not someone still owns the copyright and has renewed it, not to how old the cartoon is. After works reached a certain age, they would automatically fall into public domain, but Disney has held that up for years so that Mickey Mouse doesn't become public domain.

Walt Disney renewed their copyrights on the Mickey Mouse cartoons.
Warner Bros. and other studios were occasionally lax and failed to renew
copyright on numerous cartoons, shorts, serials and feature films over the
years. Most all videos sold at Dollar Tree stores and elsewhere for a dollar
are in the public domain.
