Why? Because there is no air? Sound travels underwater doesn't it? Sound needs a medium, space is a medium, you ear drum can't detect sound in space because it is designed to react to vibrations through air. Trust me, sound travels in space and is in space.

Sound is particles vibrating. It's not an electromagnetic wave. Very few particles in space = very little vibration = no sound.

Sound are particles? I think you need a refresher course in Physics. Sound is an accoustic wave.

I agree with you to a certain extent. But what is space? Is it really a vacuum? Some new theories are emerging that explain otherwise.
