Description : Sackler was a panelist at Different Donor Perspectives segment of Hack's NYU graduate course Development Strategies for Capacity Building. Sackler, a public historian, American Indian Advocate, and philanthropic activist, is CEO of the Arthur M. Sackler Foundation and Founder and President of the American Indian Ritual Object Repatriation Foundation. Dr. Sackler sits on the National Advisory Board of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C., and is on the Board of Trustees of the Brooklyn Museum in New York City. She is a lecturer and writer whose papers and articles are published in scholarly journals and national magazines. In 2006, her chapter, Calling for a Code of Ethics in the Indian Art Market, was published in Ethics and the Visual Arts (Elaine A. King and Gail Levin, eds., Allworth Press). As President of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Foundation, she was responsible for giving Judy Chicagos iconic feminist masterpiece, "The Dinner Party," to the Brooklyn Museum in 2002, and for its permanent installation venue at the museum in the newly opened Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. Among her numerous awards, Dr. Sackler has been the recipient of the Presidents Award from the Womens Caucus for Art in 2004, ArtTables prestigious Distinguished Service to the Visual Arts in 2006, and both NOW-NYCs Women of Power Influence Award and More College of Arts Visionary Woman Award in 2007.
