I have to admit there haven't been many good left wing politicains over here. The only good ones have been George Galloway, Tony Benn, Dennis Skinner. In the USA there has been many great left wingers including JFK, Frankiln D. Roosevelt, RFK, Martin Luther King, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Ted Kennedy etc.

Dennis Skinner and George Galloway I agree with. I don't agree with what they believe in, but at least they practice it. Tony Benn is the worst kind of champagne socialist. He as a multi million pound fortune, a country estate in Essex, a Notting Hill mansion, and a house in Holland Park, one of the most expensive and upmarket areas of London. He preaches redistribution, but he hasn't voluntarily redistributed his own wealth. I like Skinner a lot. He's a real firebrand.

Maybe you've got a point about Benn. I respect David Cameron to an extent. He seems like a nice guy and he speaks out aganist the BNP. In my opinion the worst Tory MP was Enoch Powell. That rivers of blood speech was just wrong in every way. He said that in the near future blacks would have the upper hand over whites, but 90% of the poulation is still white today.

Powell had a point. Don't take that the wrong way. I think the BNP and racists in general are the worst kind of scum. Powell was speaking in the context of his time. We have the virtue of hindsight. He was mostly wrong, but the immigration experiment has gone wrong over here in my opinion. He was also Establisment, and in those days, most were racist.

It depends on the form of liberalism. Classic liberalism was an excellent ideology, but it was stained by the massive poverty in those days, which was nothing to do with the ideology, but the rapid industrialisation, and the masses of substandard housing with unclean interiors. We didn't have the medicine we have now then, so disease was much more prominent. Classical liberalism guarantee's financial autonomy and individual freeomds. Neo liberalism is just socialism in disguise.
