I never was alive during his presidency. However he was one of the greatest leaders in out Nation's history. We could truly use his leadership right now.

Mr. Reagan- our country misses you- even the ones that despise you suffer because of your absence. I hope against all odds that we will have another president like you but I fear it is not meant to be, and America will slip into the slow agonizing death, like so many other countries have, that is the cancer we call socialism.

Amen and amen! He was a true Patriot of FREEDOM! I ill forever miss this great man! Vote2008

Hey hey, dirty ronnie never misses a photo opp. The challenger crew was used by ron in a win win situation, if they had made in orbit, ron was going to do a conference with them during his state of the union speach and was going to talk to all of us about God and Jesus, and in the event of their failure he had this obituary... no thanks ron, listen to the thiokol representatives in your next life. What a two faced sham and hyperbolic ass hiding killing his foes with McCarthyism, a real loser

Umm, he still wanted to do the State of the Union that night and make his remarks there, but was asked not to in light of what happened. This was clearly the better choice. If he had not addressed the nation that day, you and other naysayers would have called him an ass anyway. Attack how he does his job, fine. Attacking him just for DOING his job is a cheap shot of the worst kind.

A stunning and moving performance. Just what was needed at that time. I respect him.

yes though i am a liberal i have nothing but repect and admeration for Ronald Regan. I only wish we had more leaders like him

What a great man.

Another of our great statesmen and leaders once wrote "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." Were I to adapt that principal to writing it would fit you nicely. In having a long history of being conquered from 327 BC by Alexander through Soviet rule and finally becoming independent in 1991 I would think you would recognize a man most responsible for your opportunity to be recognized as a free republic... such as it is.

You're a gentleman and a scholar sir.
