I believe the reason you did not notice Claire is that she was playing "Mirabelle"....incredible sexy woman, that had not found her sexy...yet, Ray, was used to woman who "wanted" him for his "money" and what he could offer.... He found love with Mirabelle...but, would not let himself "go there"....at least in the end he did admit to her... I love this film...and Clair and Mirabelle... blessings, suziestew

Mirabelle is sexy in a different way, I agree. She's not the "in your face" sexy like in the scene where Lisa takes Jeremy back to her place, has all the sex toys everywhere, etc. Mirabelle is very natural. That's all she needed to seduce Ray, just herself. That's all she needed. :-)

....Mirabelle, was sexy because she was herself... the creative soul she was found "her" sexy... Mirabelle, had a fresh face, demure...unsure quality to her style...and, yet allowed herself to move into the moments that produced that sensual woman... a wonderful complex character who was exploring herself...

This might be Claire's first nude scene, but she was topless in Romeo and Juliet.
