lol i know what your saying but, the song IS in E minor so its not that amazing hes playing it in open E. I know he can play in other keys i just thought i point it out before someone makes a mean comment :)

Interesting - his style is unique for sure. Between Derek and Sonny Landreth, they both have broken new ground on this wonderful art. I am amazed that Derek does all this in open e, but then again, it is just as natural for him to play all keys in open e as it is for a banjo player to play in open g. I also noticed Derek popped a string in this vid! He handled that well too!
