Punch Drunk Love He Needs Me

I read an interpretation awhile back and the guy says that Barry wears the blue suit because, well... he is blue (emotionally). As for the blue lights through out the film (I think there are red lights as well?), they also have to do with the emotional state of the characters. I could be wrong about this...

I've only seen this film once and I really like the story! :) one question though, what is the significance of the color blue here? Sandler's character where the blue suit throughout the film, and also the sudden flashes of blue light like the one in 8:35 and 8:36 ?

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. It was a great story, albeit a misunderstood film. Yes, this is one of the best parts of the movie. Check out how the phone lights up when he finally hears her voice. But I also enjoyed the part when he stops running and at last confronts those tormenting blackmailing bastards when he sees that his girlfriend has been hurt by them. Then he kicks the shit out of them. If you haven't seen this movie, give it a chance. But it is not your standard Sandler film.

I think a lot of people don't understand PTA, I mean a lot my friends HATED there will be blood. I think he really understands how to use the film medium much like Kubrick did. Comparing the two directors is not far off because they both understand how to use sound and visuals in order to instill emotions in the viewer.

I need to get this movie on DVD, or blu ray, or whatever comes next.
