does it cost anything to use it?

hey guys and one know if there is a microsd card behind the battery prongs?

Ofcourse it won't work inside, no GPS device does. It may work for some if you have really really thin walls, it can also get a signal from the corner of your house if there are windows nearby.

do I need a data connection for google maps? Can you make it work without one?

you will need wifi or the cell network. this is due to all maps are downloaded from google as you search and move around in the app. sorry!
