Dad said Pilots called the P-39 the "iron dog"; it literally would stall out over 15,000 feet. A supercharger would have made this a GREAT ship.
I've posted an almost identical cut here; The difference is the (now proper) spelling of the famous VVS aviator, Three Times Hero of the Soviet Union, Comrade Pokryshkin.
