I was able to meet Kalapana back in the day. My boss brought them out for a few concerts. When Mackey sang Here there and everywhere on the stage by himself, it was one of the most spectacular renditions ever. It amazes me how someone with so much talent could have such a tragic ending. He will be missed....

One of my dearest friend I had the pleasue of meeting and knowing. I managed Mackey on Guam for a bit, and was honor to have known him! Miss you my friend!

I partied with Kalapana in the 70's at their Malibu house, some wild times. Macky married a girl (Vanessa Brown),her and I danced in a Hawaiian Dance Troupe together. The wedding was beautiful but the marriage was short lived. Many memories RIP Macky. Drugs or not he was so sweet and full of life when we knew him. thanks for all the fun
