The next best thing after Luciano Pavarotti. Good Bell Canto
beatifull aria, beatifull voice, so unice.
Juan did an excellent job with that high C. I am working towards singing that note consistently well. I keep falling short though.
holy shit
he is good too!
dont compare him with pavarotti
no one should compare anyone to pavarotti he was the great pavarotti...so..florez does a great job if you don't compare him:)
im not an educated listener but:
a) he seems to make a lot more effort when compared to pavarotti (1973)
b) doesnt sustain the high C notes as seamlessly or for as long as pavarotti.
c) his voice seems weak.
his voice is just different that Pavorotti, JDF is a lighter tenor voice, and hes probably the most reputable Rossini (and by extension, other belcanto composers who were exponents of the same style , i.e., Donizetti) tenors in the world. JDF's range is higher lighter and more agile than Pavorotti's (even though this is the role that made him famous), though he for most practical purposes limited to bel canto, while Pavorotti was capable fo singing a broader spectra of roles
are you serious? Pavorotti had to fight for every C. JDF makes it seems effortless. Have you heard the Pavorotti/Sutherland recording? There are at least two times he eases into the C from a G

Finally today I stopped hemming and hawing and bought this DVD on Amazon. I can't wait for it to get here!!! JDF and Natalie Dessay... awesome!
Where can you find this? Is this in DVD form?
