The 1979 episode where the Angels go undercover in a disco to catch a bad guy featured a couple of then popular hits when they were out on the dance floor, neither of which was the original version by the original artist, though; not sure if they production staff for the show had to do that deliberately or not.

It was - and still is -- common practice in series television to use sound-alike recordings of popular hits when the royalty fees for the original music are too expensive. Not having to deal with licensing of music by major artists also made the shows a lot easier and cheaper to sell in syndication after their original network run was finished.
