I had 2 bayliffs turn up at my door one week ago, wanting £580 for an unpaid parking ticket. About 6 months ago I had parked in a residential area (blood boiling typing that), filled out the cryptic 1-day permit and put my cars numberplate in the wrong box (yes, I know...) I got a £60 ticket, I phoned them up to appeal, I had a really smug and rude guy on the phone that told me, while I was getting the address to write to, that it was pointless trying.

I sent my letter off describing what happened, not very hopefull about the response. Heard nothing back, ignored it, heard nothing till the doorbell rang 6 months later. Apparantly they sent out ONE warning letter. I'm not sure what would have happened if I couldnt afford to pay the bayliffs there and then, it's not a small amount of money to anyone.

I pay 40% of my salary to these people and 1000s a year on council tax, christ knows what else, and that's before the taxing process starts again when I go to spend my money. I can't see ANY value for money in completely inefficient/corrupt/incompetent/whatever 'big' government that runs our country and councils, I'm sure it's the same everywhere. No video of me crying, but completely justified rant (and my 1st ever youtube comment) about something that makes me sick with anger.

The worst thing is, there is NOTHING i can do.
