Canon MD205 Camcorder Unboxing

you said you had a amc well ever mac comes with a built in webcam and microphone so why did u need that big black microphone ???

I have a Mac mini and they don't have a built in microphone or webcam, neither does a Mac Pro. Anyway, I bought the 'big black microphone' to use with our old camcorder and it happened to work with my Mac too.

Hey I'm thinkin' about getting this camera - it's the first cheap camcorder I've found with a mic input... - and haven't found any videos showcasing it's picture quality. What's it like? Any chance you could upload a demo? Also, does it shoot in Widescreen 16:9 ? Cheers, Jack

Uploading something recorded to show the quality would be useless as the video has to be heavily compressed. The quality of the video is pretty good for such a cheap camcorder and yes, it shoots in true Widescreen :-)

It depends what feature you want on it. I wanted a mic input and a camera that I thought was comfortable to hold so I chose the Canon. The quality of the picture on the Canon isn't brilliant, and it lacks features, but I've never used the Sony HC51 (or even looked at the specs properly) so I can't compare them.
