AH-1 remember wietnam war.

the cobra can be equipped with 7 or 19 shot rocket pods and configured to carry 2 or 4pods allowing it to carry up to 76 rockets which can fire 1, 2, 4, 8 or all at once. the -1f normally had 2 rocket pods and either 4 or 8 tow msl launchers. the army never should have gotten rid of the cobra and followed the marines in further development of this proven reliable aircraft, oh yeah but they're getting replaced with the commanche...

Yeah, but the commanche is really really cool. it is like the cobra. It flys sideways and backward and everything.

sorry 2 rain on ur parade but the commanche was never put into service and it was a recon chopper not a gunship. the appache is the one ur talkin about

I was being sarcastic since the Army retired the cobra then cancelled the Comanche Program. Cobras were to be replaced with Apaches in the NG units, & Apaches would be replaced with Comanches for active duty units. It was to be an armed recon helicopter with 8 hellfires or stingers loaded internally, with provisions to also carry 56 Hydra 70mm rockets, plus a 20mm 3-barrel cannon. The AF would have 10X what the aermy spent and still kept the program. I say build more MH/AH-6's. They're cheap.
